Agree 0 Disagree 0 28 Jan Hearing that some of the so called larger teams are also looking at hi, so get him infront of Dave to convince him that we should be his destination of choice ;- Agree 0 Disagree 0 28 Jan Similar career path to Redmond before we got him, albeit without any PL experience, but hopefully he could become a quality addition.

RH is definitely not messing about, as you say trimming the fat. I can imagine our weekly wage bill is dropping nicely.

I think we will see a move towards fewer younger fitter more versatile players who are more multi purpose and can cover a variety of positions, an exciting prospect.

Agree 0 Disagree 0 25 Jan Agree 1 Disagree 0 26 Jan I think a squad of should be big enough to cope. Agree 0 Disagree 0 26 Jan Arguably also currently the best finisher in the squad.

But in a team who keeps giving service and crosses he will come good. Our strikers need to be fit enough to chase and press, and mobile enough so that we can still carve chances despite the lack of creativity behind them.

I agree, I think Ings is the only striker of quality in our team, maybe Redmond will start to play alongside him. Does anyone think that RH, might fall out with the squad by selling all our "deadweight"?

Especially for a body type like his, which is always going to be a problem as he struggles with keeping his weight in check. Are we playing it risky with youth cover or are we actually aiming to get one or two in this window?

Right back is a prime example now. I also read RH is not looking to bring any players in during this window and he is confident of avoiding relegation.

What is encouraging for me is that the majority of the players have bought into his philosophy and we have all seen a dramatic improvement in jwp, Redmond, and others.

We have several players who can play in that position and that would give RH some money to bring in someone that he wants. Also free up more money as Cedric was reportedly one of the top earners.

Agree 0 Disagree 1 25 Jan A bit disappointing if you ask me. Maybe saints want boufal back from his loan? Cedric has been a good servant to the club without ever setting the world alight and has been inconsistent recently - if Ralph is happy to let him go then I trust him completely.

Gabs will have freed up around 70k per week, Davis is on around 60k, Hoedt is on the same, and so will Cedric. So we might have managed to free up around k a week in wages.

If we can bring 2 younger players who will be on about 30k a week, then we will be saving almost 10m a year on wages. Agree 0 Disagree 0 24 Jan Superb free-kick goal against ManUtd, but poor marking, poor blocking, poor crosses far too often.

To me, fee around 12m would be a good business, but agree, he should be replaced. We can not rely only on Valery in that position. But Cedric is easily replaceble.

Still, I agree everything Ralph has done so far. Hopefully we can get rid of Forster before the 1st February and get a couple ins, too if the claims are right these could well include Carrillo and Boufal.

Another option would be to play Reed in this position when he returns from loan. Agree 1 Disagree 0 24 Jan Agree with your post jay.

He was a good signing but if he leaves for 12 mill with 18 months on his contract I think that is a good deal for all concerned.

With him going maybe we will make an offer for another rb cable of playing cb. One of the two lol. I think RH will play Redmond as our main striker for the remainder of the season.

The way we set up on Saturday is best suited to us, at this moment in time. Playing 5 at the back, with the two holding midfielders, we move the ball fast and precisely to beat teams on the counter.

This style of play heavier relies on Redmond and Ings getting in behind the defenders. That may change if an offer comes In for Cedric and we let him go.

I think the squad we have, with this manager, is capable of pulling clear of relegation. Yoshida will be back by February, and it seems RH trusts him enough along with Stephens, vestergaard and bednerak to make up the centre of our defence.

I reckon once Bertrand is back he too may be used in the back 3 allowing targett to stay at lwb. Cedric can cover on the left and at rwb, it seems valery and even kayne Ramsey are now ahead of him in the pecking order.

He also seems to like ings and long up front, with Austin as back up and hopefully obafemi returning too. As ed said, I think RH and the club will wait until we are safe from relegation before adding any players.

Our squad is massive. We have so many players out on loan and a lot of players who are at male or break in their career.

We need to sell first. Not just because of money, but because our squad and therefore wage bill are too big. Agree 2 Disagree 0 23 Jan We are in this situation with an overly large squad because of short term, knee jerk reactionary buying.

I totally agree that we have enough quality to avoid relegation this season. I also believe that in the summer the market will be flooded with an excess of players being offloaded by clubs looking to reduce their bloated wage bills e.

Agree 0 Disagree 0 23 Jan Ings is very injury prone and missed several weeks with us already and two seasons at Liverpool.

Agree 0 Disagree 0 23 Jan Ings is very injury prone and missed several weeks with us already and two seasons at Liverpool. Charlie, for me, does not suit the style of play RH is integrating into the team.

We could do worse than looking at offering Giuseppe Rossi a short term deal as he is currently training with Man Utd to keep fit. Marcus Rojo would be another player I would look for a short term loan until the end of the season.

I know we have a few CB but I think he is a little more mobile than some others we have. Lastly I would look to loan Victor Moses who can play a variety of positions and add adequate cover for others that are injured or just returning.

Those three players would be very minimal with loan and short term deals, and will add extra security for the club on money spent should relegation happen.

Agree 1 Disagree 0 23 Jan Not an easy find in January but could be useful insurance. Just my opinion at the end of the day based on reports, the fans forum last week and the info that the eds offer up.
